The Salesian charism refers to the vibrant living spiritual tradition that has its origins with St Francis de Sales (1567 – 1622) and St John Bosco (1815 – 1888).
From St Francis de Sales derives a spirituality of daily life that is founded upon responding with fidelity and joy to God’s love for us, and from St John Bosco arises a way life that seeks to share with young people the unfathomable riches of God’s love.
Today the Salesian Family of Don Bosco is a vast movement of people committed to following Jesus Christ and being signs and bearers of God’s love for the young.
